CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - A Caledonia-area daycare worker has apologized after getting caught on video using a melatonin spray on sleeping mats without parental consent.
Adventures Learning Center on Broadmoor says they have removed the spray from the facility and the state has been notified.
"While the teacher believed it to be a harmless addition to the nap routine, we have since clarified with her and our entire center staff that no external products should be used in the classroom without prior parental consent," the daycare said in a statement to WOOD-TV.
The spray is not approved for use with children, though a retired pediatrician says it's "likely harmless" for kids unless they have asthma.
