GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - A $4.2 million project has been announced that would put affordable housing in a mostly-vacant postal service building near Eastern and Burton on the southeast side of Grand Rapids.
Construction crews are going to gut the space before putting in eight one-bedroom and seven two-bedroom units.
"We thought it was a great opportunity for us, as that building is in the 49507 ZIP code where we have built quite a few developments and have quite a few rental units." ICCF Community Homes Advancement Vice President Michelle Covington told WOOD-TV.
They're hoping to have units ready for lease by 2026.
