Weather prompts West Michigan school district to call off school

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - School's out across the region today.

All districts in the area have called off school due to the arctic blast.

Grand Rapids Public Schools made its announcement last night.

"Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby called the snow day due to a combination of road conditions and frigid temperatures," the district posted to its website.

Public school students in Grand Rapids were also off Monday to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
