Competency exam approved for suspect in workplace stabbing

FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - The criminal case of a 32-year-old man who police in Fruitport Township say stabbed the president of a manufacturing company during a staff meeting last month is now on hold.

A Muskegon County judge has approved a competency exam for Nathan Mahoney, who has been charged with assault with intent to murder.

The president of Anderson Express is expected to recover after getting stabbed in the ribcage with a four-inch blade.
