Greyson Clothiers to open retail store on Monroe Center in downtown GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A new national luxury lifestyle company will be opening a retail store in downtown Grand Rapids later this month.

The 4,100-square-foot Greyson Clothiers Den will be located at 40 Monroe Center, west of Division Avenue. This will be Greyson's third store in Michigan.

The Grand Rapids Wolf Den will include a Custom Shop for customers to customize hats and other items while watching the process in action.

Seyferth PR provided more details in a news release:

Grand Rapids-based Rockford Construction (Rockford) is bringing in another luxury brand to Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids. Greyson Clothiers, a national luxury lifestyle brand with Michigan roots, is expanding its retail footprint in Michigan with a new “Den” store opening later this month in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The new 4,100 square-foot Greyson Clothiers Grand Rapids Den will be located next to Shinola in the Peck Building, located at 40 Monroe Center St. NW.

Since launching in 2015, Greyson quickly established itself as a category leader in the golf and lifestyle apparel market by offering a differentiated and more versatile perspective on performance apparel. Greyson has strategically expanded its omnichannel presence – serving customers across multiple countries through a growing network of brick-and-mortar locations and a robust network of distributors – with a focus on expansion in key markets.

“This will be our third Greyson Clothiers retail store in Michigan, and we are excited to continue our local journey in downtown Grand Rapids to expand our Michigan footprint and bring our premium performance and tailored collections to West Michigan,” said Greyson Clothiers CEO Charlie Schaefer. “Our Grand Rapids Wolf Den store will be uniquely curated with a selection of seasonal Greyson products for the whole family, as well as limited-edition collaborations with local and national brands - Detroit Lions, University of Michigan, and Michigan State University, and bespoke lifestyle product capsules that include accessories and more.”

Unique to Greyson Clothiers Grand Rapids Den will be the addition of a “Custom Shop” — a glass enclosure to offer guests the opportunity to customize hats and other wears while watching the process in action.

“The Custom Shop will also support Greyson’s expansive global wholesale business bringing an element of light manufacturing and adornment to downtown Grand Rapids,” said Shaefer.

Since its renovation of the Peck Building on the corner of Monroe Center and Division Avenue in 1998 – one of Rockford’s first projects in the revitalization of downtown Grand Rapids – the company has played a pivotal role in driving growth across the retail, business, and residential sectors. Over the years, Rockford has taken on various roles as a developer, builder, or property manager for several key projects in downtown, including the Grand Rapids Police Department building in 2001, Front Row Condos in 2004, the Grand Rapids Art Museum in 2007, Sweet Yo’s in 2012, The Morton in 2015, Fusion Academy and Learning Center in 2018, Gazelle Sports in 2022, and Shinola in 2023.

“For the past 26 years, we’ve been a major part of the evolving landscape in downtown Grand Rapids,” said Mike VanGessel, founder and CEO of Rockford. “Bringing Greyson Clothiers to Monroe Center is a pinnacle opportunity as we continue to raise the bar for what’s next in Grand Rapids. Greyson is known for creating cutting-edge branding and bringing more fashion-forward designs to market.”

Greyson Clothiers has eight retail dens worldwide, including two in Michigan: Detroit and Harbor Springs. Other locations include: New Orleans, New York City, West Palm Beach, Atlanta, Denver, and Republic of Korea.
