OTSEGO, Mich. -- An Otsego man will face charges for allegedly setting fire to a playground earlier this month.
The suspect is a 37-year-old and is facing charges of third-degree arson, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and habitual 4th offense. The suspect's name has not yet been released. He was already in custody at the Allegan County Sheriff's Office on separate charges.
The suspect will be arraigned in the coming days.
Fire crews were called to Northside Park on September 2 shortly after midnight. The large wooden play structure was on fire and a large part of it was destroyed.
The city is hoping to rebuild the structure as soon as possible.
