BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Drought in West Michigan is impacting the pumpkin crop.
Julie Febus of Post Family Farms says pumpkins are 92 percent water and the dry conditions this summer are leading to smaller pumpkins.
Febus says they had to irrigate their pumpkin fields due to the lack of rain. She says they also planted larger pumpkin species in an attempt to help with the problem.
She says the sprinklers are no match for real rain. Their corn crops also suffered this year.
