Muskegon Heights starts 2025 without a budget

Muskegon Heights is starting the new year without a budget.

A special meeting was cancelled at the end of 2024 because there were not enough council members in attendance for a supermajority, which is needed to approve a budget.

Mayor Bonnie McGlothin says city employees have continued their work and she will ensure they will get paid.

Residents say they are concerned and they want the issue resolved.

A meeting is scheduled for Monday night.
