Women to pay $36,000 in restitution after dozens of dogs seized from home

A woman will now have to pay $36,000 in restitution to shelters after dozens of dogs were cared for by them and removed from her home.

It's all a part of a plea deal Lisa Cober took related to animal neglect charges. Judge Matthew Kacel issued his ruling Thursday on a motion against Lisa Cober. Lawyers representing the Norton Shores woman argued that money donated to the shelters related to Cober’s dogs should count toward her restitution. Ultimately, Kacel disagreed.
