Western Michigan University's football field will have a new name due to a record-setting gift from a former player.
David and Ronda Stafford and their family are giving $5 million to WMU Athletics, which is the largest naming contribution ever donated.
The football field will now be named Stafford-Smith Field.
The university plans to recognize the family at its homecoming game on October 26.
