MSPC releases study on Consumers Energy, DTE service reliability

The Michigan Public Service Commission is releasing a comprehensive audit on reliability by Consumers Energy and DTE Energy.

The audit was conducted by Pennsylvania-based The Liberty Consulting Group.

The goal of the audit was to uncover the cause of slow service restoration and lagging reliability.

The audit found that almost 500,000 customers experiences a power outage that lasted more than eight hours last year.

Around 158,000 customers experienced an outage that lasted more than two days.
