Downtown GR could soon have more parking spots

The Grand Rapids Planning Commission voted to recommend zoning amendments that would allow companies to put in more parking for office spaces.

The change would allow employers with more than 100,000 square feet of office space to put in three parking spots for every 1,000 square feet of space, up from the current maximum of one parking spot for every 1,000 square feet. The change would offer more flexibility to employees and employers as working habits have changed post-pandemic.
