KALAMAZOO (WOOD-AM) - A "no contact advisory" is being lifted for portions of the Kalamazoo River.

The advisory was issued the advisory last week after it was found that a methylene chloride was spilled into a sewer system near the the Pfizer's facility on portage road.

At least 50 gallons of the solvent made it into a sewer. The company claims none of it made it into the river.

The Environmental Protection Agency says short-term exposure to methylene chloride can harm the central nervous system.
