Grand Rapids Public Schools will resume classes on Wednesday.
Initial water tests have come back clean after a water main break prompted a boil water advisory for a large area of the city.
The advisory remain in place.
GRPS spokesman Leon Hendrix says safety is always their top priority and they decided with promising data from the first set of water tests, they would open school with precautions.
Bottled water and hand sanitizer will be available.
All drinking fountains will be off limits.
