GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - A psychiatric exam has been ordered for a 20-year-old man who prosecutors say was at the center of two violent encounters with Grand Rapids police within two months.
Nodin Chervenka was shot after charging at officers with a box-cutter.
The incident was seen in body camera footage.
Weeks after he posted bond, police say he charged at them again after assaulting a wheelchair-bound man with a butcher knife.
Chervenka is now jailed on $750,000 bond.
