Man, 25, sentenced for downtown shooting during fight that killed friend

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Judge Mark Trusock announced a sentence of at least 30 years in prison yesterday for a 25-year-old who accidentally shot his friend to death and left three others with injuries in downtown Grand Rapids.

Genesis Lewis killed Armonie Acklin during a fight outside of a Pearl Street bar nearly two years ago.

Marcellous Suttles, who was celebrating his wedding hours before, was also wounded but survived.

The groups involved were part of a long-time feud.
