Ottawa County Undersheriff Valerie Weiss is retiring after 30 years working in law enforcement.
Weiss began her career with the department in 1995 as a patrol deputy.
She spent time as a school resource Sergeant, Captain and was then appointed to Undersheriff in 2017.
Sheriff Steve Kempker says Weiss always had a passion for community policing and making a difference in the community.
Weiss looks forward to spending more time with her family before beginning a new career.
