Warming shelters overwhelmed this week

Overnight shelters and warming centers are seeing overwhelming demand this week with dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills in the forecast.

Mel Trotter Ministries says they have space for 600 beds and are full for Monday night.

The organization has not had to turn anyone away as they can lay out mats in an overflow room.

Mel Trotter Ministries interim CEO Gordon Oosting says they will open up as much space as they can and stay in contact with other shelters as no one should be outside in this weather.
