Two charged in Wyoming Walmart shooting on New Year's Eve

WYOMING (WOOD-AM) - Wyoming Police Lt. Andrew Koeller tells WOOD-TV that a pair of 21-year-old men are now are facing assault with intent to murder and weapons-related charges following a high-profile shooting over the holidays.

"The Walmart, New Year's Eve, 6 o'clock in the afternoon, was busy," Koeller said. "Discharging 10 or more rounds down a checkout lane full of people put all these citizens in great danger."

Camrin Carpenter and Latrell Young were arraigned yesterday. Court Records say carpenter revealed a gun while young tried to steal a man's phone.

That man was shot four times.

A young woman, who was said to be 18, was also shot in the foot.

Both victims are expected to recover.
