The Better Business Bureau says online purchase scams were the most common in West Michigan in 2023.
This is the third year in a row for online scams to be ranked on top.
BBB spokesperson Kate Grevious says more than half the scams reported to the organization stemmed from social media posts.
Phishing and fake employment opportunities were the other two top ranking scams last year.
