Group says former Bethany Christian Services counselor assaulted 12 kids

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Michigan Immigrant Rights Center says it has identified 12 children who were victimized by a former Bethany Christian Services counselor who was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor under the organization's care.

Twenty-four-year-old Alfredo Ramos Quixan was charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct linked to the intial case.

“Our sense is that, as long as (Ramos Quixan) was able to during the term of his employment (with Bethany Christian Services), he was engaging in some form of abuse of children," Managing Attorney Ana Raquel Devereaux told WOOD-TV.

Ramos Quixan is expected back in court next month.
