STANTON (WOOD-AM) - A 12-to-30-year prison sentence was handed down yesterday to a woman who drove away from the scene after striking three teenagers near Greenville in August, killing one.

Tom Lafferty, the grandfather of 14-year-old Jamison Lafferty, read a statement to Brandy Sue Jones in court yesterday.

"I asked these folks to stand for justice for Jamison, but also so the court could see who in this court has already been sentenced," he said.

The judge also gave Jones additional prison time for injuring the other two boys and violating the terms of her parole.
