Michigan to sell $100M in apples to USDA

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is purchasing $100M in apples from farmers across Michigan.

U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters issued a statement saying the apples will then be used to feed hungry Americans.

The purchase will include $60M in fresh apples and $40M in processed apples.

The state is the third largest apple producer in the country.
