Former sheriff's detective pleads no contest to misconduct in office

MUSKEGON (WOOD-AM) - A former Muskegon County sheriff's detective who was assigned to the county's elder abuse task force has entered a no contest plea to a misconduct in office charge after prosecutors say he was in a sexual relationship with a suspect.

Darric Roesler was charged about three weeks ago. He will be sentenced next month.

Roesler could be ordered to spend five years in prison.
