Ford Airport announces new carrier

The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is announcing Sun County Airlines will begin service at the airport in June 2024.

Sun Country is based in Minnesota and is a low-cost carrier focusing on serving leisure passengers.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority President and CEO Tory Richardson said in a statement they are excited to bring even more options to airport guests by welcoming the carrier to West Michigan.

Sun County will initially focus on routes from Grand Rapids to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.

The flights will run on Sundays and Thursdays from June 13 through September 1.

Guests will be able to catch connecting flights to 98 destinations from Minneapolis-Saint Paul.

Bookings will begin in Spring 2024.
