The Muskegon YMCA is offering way to battle hunger with September being Hunger Action Month.
Almost 12 percent of residents in Muskegon County are facing food insecurity.
The YMCA says this has led them to help families find meals as well as learn about nutrition.
This summer the YMCA provided 669 lunches for children in the area.
The organization also offers cooking classes for adults and a mobile farmer's market van.
