Nearly a dozen caged puppies rescued in South Haven

SOUTH HAVEN (WOOD-AM) - Nearly a dozen puppies are recovering after being abandoned outside of a house of worship in South Haven this week.

They were found in a cage without water or food.

"They were dirty and full of fleas but they appear healthy," Al-Van Humane Society spokesperson Penny Lach said. "We've bathed them and treated for the fleas (and) we've got them all cleaned."

The dogs will be up for adoption after getting vaccinated, de-wormed and spayed or neutered.
