The Rapid says they have run out of Air Quality Action Day funding which meant rides were not free on Monday.
The service says they have a set amount of funding for the program each year that provides free rides for individuals on air quality action days.
The Rapids has had 18 Clean Air Action Days and Air Quality Action Days so far this year, while in 2022 there were only six.
The service has not seen numbers this high since 2012, when there were 25 days recorded.
