The U.S. Coast Guard says two people from Lowell were pulled from a plane that crashed near Beaver Island on Lake Michigan.
Officials say 70-year-old Randy Seaman was airlifted to a hospital in Petoskey while 65-year-old Beverly Anderson died on the scene.
Coast Guard crews were able to respond to the crash quickly due to training exercises that were scheduled in the area.
