Reminder: The dangers of rip currents

(WOOD-AM) - The official first day of summer is around the corner, and safety officials want to remind Michiganders of the biggest danger of the beautiful Michigan lakes; rip currents.

Any body of water will never be completely safe. Rip currents can move at speeds up to eight feet per second and are often a narrow current that goes out towards the deeper parts of water.
