One arrested at Ford Airport Monday

Officials say one person was arrested early Monday after threatening paramedics before a brief lockdown at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says a man called dispatch early Monday and asked for help several times before hanging up.

Dispatchers determined the man was at the Ford Airport.

The man approached Airport Authority police and asked for medical help but then pulled a box cutter on paramedics when they arrived.

Officials say the man then fled the scene.

He was found and taken into custody.
