Michigan students place top ten for NASA competition

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Four West Michigan students received national recognition for their creativity in the NASA Hunch competition at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Abby Tichelaar and Cole Herring are students at the Kent Intermediate School District and their project design of a collapsible container placed them in the top-five of the competition. Another pair of West Michigan Students from the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District, Katie Bird and Devon Vanderwall, placed in the top ten of all projects submitted for their recipe for space travel.

All four students will now have their names on a stowage locker that will be inserted into the International Space Station.
