KENTWOOD (WOOD-AM) The mother of the two-year-old who shot and killed himself with her boyfriend's gun last Friday says Kentwood police were at the home three days before the incident.

Jikya Reddick says Markus Nevills pointed a gun at the child after she said she was afraid of the gun being in their home.

Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker says there was no evidence to press charges.

"She gave an allegation that yes, there was a pointing of the gun," Becker said "She indicated she had a knife, he had a gun. They kind of faced off, and he put the gun to the child's head."

"He said none of it happened. There was no gun, there was no knife. There was an argument, but there was no physical altercation," Becker said.
