GR man indicted on federal trafficking charges

A man from the Metro Grand Rapids area was indicted on three felony counts yesterday in the U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.

Terrence Donte Clay was charged with trafficking a minor for commercial sex acts, sexual exploitation of a minor and distribution of child pornography following his arrest in October after authorities working the Mackinac Bridge saw a teenage girl hidden underneath a blanket in the backseat of Clay's vehicle and alerted Michigan Police.

Once police encountered the man, it was discovered that Clay was attempting to traffick the teenager, thus resulting in his arrest. He is expected to be turned over to federal custody sometime this week.
