The Emerald Flats Apartments is receiving an award for historic preservation.
The building was Eastern Elementary School from 1929 to 2008.
The building was purchased by ICCF Community Homes in 2015.
ICCF Community Homes, Wolverine Building Group, Designsmiths, Oasis Community of West Michigan and Concept Design Studio Inc. were all awarded the Governor's Award for Historic Preservation for their roles in the project.
