The Hastings Area School System is closed Friday due to a threat.
Superintendent Matt Goebel says school was cancelled to allow law enforcement more time to investigate.
Chief of Police Dale Boulter says the threat was allegedly made by a high school student.
Boulter says an overall risk assessment will determine when it is safe for students to return to school.
