West Michigan law enforcement holding Drug Take Back Day

Grand Rapids police and health officials are attempting to remove unwanted pills from the community with National Drug Take Back Day.

The purpose of the initiative is to encourage residents to turn in both controlled and uncontrolled medications, no questions asked, to hopefully reduce the the chances of these leftover drugs and prescriptions from being spread around and falling into the wrong hands.

Collection sites can be found at dea.gov/takebackday with collection times running through 2 p.m. today.
