The Rapid public bus system announced upcoming changes to their city routes that will be in effect by next month.
Community Relations Specialist Wardell Frazier mentioned the two additional routes are designed to assist those living in the Walker area, more so for service employers with workers that struggle with access to transportation services.
"There are some huge employers and multiple employers that were in need of transportation for their employees," Frazier told WOOD TV. "...It was something that the public stated that they wanted, and we were able to put that into place."
The Rapid plans to merge two free Dash routes, both Dash West and Dash North, while also adding expansion to the Leonard Street business district.
