CLYDE TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - Around 250 acres has been burned in an Allegan County wildfire.
It started in the Allegan State Game Area near the Ely Lake campground in Clyde Township yesterday afternoon.
A cause is not yet known, but a red flag warning was posted at the time and burning was prohibited in the area.
"We've got 30 mile-per-hour winds," Paul Rogers, a fire prevention specialist with Michigan Department of Natural Resources, told WOOD-TV. "The fires, they just race through these fields."
