Judge approves $54 million PFAS settlement

A U.S. District Court Judge is approving a $54 million settlement between Wolverine Worldwide and 3M and property owners in northern Kent County.

Judge Hala Jarbou signed off on the class action lawsuit for property owners who had their water contaminated by PFAS from the two companies.

The funds will be split among 1,195 residents who had the emerging contaminant in their water supply.

The deal was first announced in September but needed approval from a judge.
