US attorney says fentanyl makes opioid crisis more dangerous than ever

U.S. Attorney for Western Michigan Mark Totten says fentanyl is making the opioid crisis more dangerous than ever.

Fentanyl is a synthetic drug and production is not limited by a growing season like heroin is.

According the the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 8,000 people in the U.S. died from fentanyl in 2021.

Totten says that is the highest number ever recorded.
