MSU begins removing memorials for shooting victims

Michigan State University is removing some of the memorials that were set up to honor the victims of the shooting that took place on campus February 13.

Signs, flowers and other displays have been collected outside the MSU Union and Berkey Hall.

MSU spokesperson Dan Olsen says weather conditions have caused the flowers and signs to deteriorate and led to the decision to remove them.

Olsen says the flowers will be turned into mulch that will be used to plant a memorial tree in the spring while the signs will be preserved by MSU Archives.
