Bill would give tax credit to blood donors

A bill introduced in the Michigan House of Representatives would give tax credits to individuals who donate blood.

The bill is co-sponsored by Rep. Phil Green, R-Millington and Rep. Rachel Hood, D-Grand Rapids.

Individuals would receive $25 state tax credit for each blood donation up to $100 a year.

Officials say blood donations have decreased since the COVID-19 pandemic.
