The Kent County Road Commission says their budget is still in good shape despite higher-than-average snowfall this winter.
KCRC deputy managing director of operations Jerry Byrne says bigger storms are cheaper than getting 1 to 2 inches of snow at a time because the trucks have to go out no matter what.
The county has used almost 12,000 tons of salt so far this year.
The department normally uses around 35,000 tons of salt each year.
