Mom: East Kentwood student unknowingly given pot cookie

KENTWOOD (WOOD-AM) - A local high school student has recovered after her mother says she unknowingly ate what's believed to be a marijuana edible.

Ondrae Soule, a parent of a freshman at East Kentwood High School, claims her daughter was given a pot-laced cookie.

"It could’ve been something way worse," Soule told WOOD-TV.

The district and the Kent County Sheriff's Office are investigating. Sheriff's deputies say at least one other teenager ate the cookie.

Investigators are still trying to confirm what exactly was in the cookie. Marijuana was found in the child's system.
