Allegan County is using American Rescue Plan Act funding to expand broadband access.
County administrator Robert Sarro says internet infrastructure was one of the top suggestions for how to spend the money from residents.
An estimated 12,000 homes in the county do not have access to 100-megabit internet service.
Sarro says the country received 23 million dollars and most of that will be spent on broadband with the rest going to water quality.
