Teenager injured in shooting in SW Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Police Department has confirmed a 17-year-old was shot on Cesar E. Chavez Avenue near Hall Street in southwest Grand Rapids.

Authorities say the shooting happened Tuesday morning, as the teen showed up to a local hospital with a gunshot wound around 11 a.m.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released, and the 17-year-old's injury is considered non-life-threatening.
