Muskegon Heights city leaders are hopeful as a new home is under construct.
This is the first home to be built in 17 years.
High school students from Muskegon County Career Tech Center are building the home with help from local nonprofit Lake Hawks In Flight and AmeriCorps.
Teacher Holly Pontius says the project is teaching the students skills while also showing them they can improve their own community.
