Closing arguments Monday in Whitmer kidnapping retrial

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Closing arguments are expected today in the retrial of two men accused of plotting to kidnap the governor two years ago.

Attorneys representing Adam Fox and Barry Croft rested their case Friday.

Federal prosecutors have painted Fox and Croft as leaders of a plan to kidnap the governor at her vacation home in Elk Rapids. Defense attorneys say both men were entrapped by federal agents.

A jury deadlocked on charges against Fox and Croft during the first trial. The same jury acquitted two other men.
