Davenport football player killed in Detroit drive-by shooting

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - A Davenport University football player has been killed in a drive-by shooting in Detroit.

EyQuan Cobb was killed Friday night, just two days shy of his 22nd birthday.

Davenport's athletic director called Cobb "an example of a student-athlete who was a passionate contributor on the field and in the classroom."

Cobb graduated from Detroit Central High School and played three seasons for the Panthers.
